An upbeat Liverpool is visiting London to face Tottenham Hotspur. The Reds may have a 100% record this season but it will be pressed hard at the Wembley Stadium. Spurs would like brush away the memories of the horrible evening against Watford which they lost 2-1 before setting off to the international break.
Spurs had an upper hand last season in which they beat Liverpool 4-1 at home while salvaging a 2-2 draw in the return fixture. The game at the Anfield was a rollercoaster ride which saw two injury-time goals from Mohammed Salah and Harry Kane. Spurs will be worried about the threat posed by Mohammed Salah as their defence was mostly on the receiving end this season.
Spurs will be without the services of Hugo Lloris and Dele Ali. The attacking midfielder has acquired a minor strain in Hamstring during his International duty with England. Mauricio Pochentino was quoted saying “Dele Ali will have to sit out of this week’s Premier League match despite best efforts from Spurs medical team.” Hugo Lloris is still nursing his thigh injury which saw him sit out against Watford. However, they will be bolstered by the return of Heung-Min Son who avoided military service by winning gold in Asian games.
Liverpool has no major injury concerns except Dejan Lovern. Liverpool’s new signing Fabinho is yet to make a mark in the Premier League but Jurgen Klopp won’t be taking a risk of altering the winning combination in this crucial match.
